Arizona's best-kept
secrets are its vineyards and wineries. Wine grape growing in the
state dates back to the time of the Missions some 400 years ago.
Arizona's modern wine industry started in earnest in 1973. Today,
Arizona is home to 20 vineyards and wineries. They are located in
various microclimates throughout the state from as far south as
the boarder of Mexico, to the north in Jerome, Sedona and Kingman.
The best time to visit Arizona's vineyards is in the Summer and
early Fall near harvest. While summer temperatures in Phoenix and
Tucson are well into the 100's. Vineyard country is considerably
cooler, almost 20 degrees cooler during the day and 40-50 degrees
cooler at night.
Arizona's
vineyards and wineries hold wonderful stories thirsting to be revealed
to their visitors. They are the tales of 21st Century pioneers who
broke the land and fended off birds, bears, deers, cats and other
wild animals to raise their crops. They hold the memories of telephone
calls from The White House for more wine. These are stories of lives
filled with passion and adventure. They are all waiting for you
to explore, see and taste.
We invite you to come and share our wines, land and passion. We
have customized this Arizona Wines Weekend Getaway Map complete
with road cycling loops, hikes, wonderful restaurants, great B&B's,
even a guest home for groups on a real working cattle ranch complete

map contains many more exciting adventures. Wine is merely the excuse,
all be it a good one, to gather family and friends, pack up the
bikes, horses and anything else that paddles, motors or pedals and
